HOW TO UNLOCK YOUR MODEM AND USE IT FOR DIFFERENT NETWORK

I have thought a lot of people on how to unlock their modem as well as using it for different network. But, in order not to be stingy with the tips, i have decided to share it on the internet. I believe not everybody knows how to unlock their modem and thus, this article. It is amazing and interesting that your modem (internet stick) as fondly called by many people can be used for different network as long as your data plan is intact. This article covers major network providers in Nigeria; but, the methodology here can be used for other network providers elsewhere around the world. 

I will like to analyse the settings for four (4) network providers in Nigeria : MTN, Airtel, Etisalat and Glo. If you want to use your modem on all these aforementioned network, for instance, Airtel sim on MTN modem, you have to unlock it first. 

You can google (HUAWEI UNLOKER) and download it to unlock your modem. Just click on it after the download and insert the IMEI  numbers of the modem into the space provided on the unlocker software on computer screen as shown below:

know, imei (The International Mobile Station Equipment Identity) is at the back of your MODEM, kindly look for it first before you will commence on unlocking your phone. When you input your imei numbers, you will be able to get the unlock code that you will use when you want to use other network (sim) on your modem. After you have successfully done that, the next thing is to insert the modem into your system with a different sim. When there is a prompt for the unlock code, supply the one you copied before previously.

 

 

Then click unlock. That is it! Having done that, your modem can now be used for all these network mentioned here. After unlocking your phone with the original SIM, for example GLO sim that follow the MODEM come, now it is time to do some little tweak as these after opening the MODEM interface:

-Go to Tools;
-Then OPTION;
                                          -Then PROFILE MANAGEMENT;


After this is done, then replace the data that you see there with the ones below and don't forget to choose the one that you know goes with your network provider as explained here. Doing otherwise will not bring any meaningful result. After all, what is the meaning of all your effort when you don't follow the instruction, isn't it?

check the Available to all users check-box if needed.
Check the connect automatically check box.
