WHAT YOU SHOULD DO BEFORE GIVING OUT OR SELLING YOUR COMPUTER

Many don’t know the danger that is there to sell or give out their computer as a gift to others without taking very concrete steps before doing so. Some have been needlessly hacked, password stolen or public-image destroyed as a result of the “carelessness” in not taking some necessary steps before giving out their PC to another person. 

Having said
that and as a result, I wish to give you the tips you can take or steps you can follow before you give your PC to another person or even selling it.

Firstly, try and format the system. What do I mean by this? Formatting of hard drive means that you

are completely removing all the contents of the drive. It means that you are deleting all the programs, files, folders and information you have in your hard drive and making it to become new again for use. Doing this is great if you know that you are done with that system. The person taking over the PC from you can now go ahead and install his/her own programs as the case may be. You can do this if you know you have sensitive information inside the system and there is no way of save-guarding them apart from this step.

On the other hand, if you know that you cannot format your computer maybe due to some reasons best known to you, the next option is the total removal of the hard drive from your computer. Before doing this, you must have made up your mind to buy another hard drive for the system or ask the person you are giving the computer to buy another hard disk.

Doing one of the above instructions will give you a rest of mind. Remember that information is very key and essential and once lost, the result can be dangerous; I hope you know this, isn’t it?  I don’t see any reason whatsoever not doing one of these suggestions and save yourself of the problems that can arise later if you fail to adhere to these suggestions. These are what you should do or consider before selling or giving out your computer to anyone. Hope this information helps you.
