HOW TO PROTECT YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT

It is a known fact these days that nearly 90% of internet-users have a Facebook-account! This is amazing and incredible; but, it is very true! 

But, it is painful the way and manner the hackers do their dirty jobs on Facebook users. Many accounts have been hijacked, password seized, owners get embarrassed because of the bad contents/images posted on their walls. In fact, the list is endless! As a result of this, I wish to explain in this post how to protect your Facebook account.

every tendency for you to be spared and free of these crimes being perpetrated by hackers online. Let us get started with these points one by one.

ALWAYS BE CAUTIOUS OF THE PASSWORD YOU USE.

Some internet users including

the Facebook people are so care-free about their password. It is noticeable that some Facebook users are so careless about their password. It is advisable that you use a password that is very difficult to get or guess, for example - (Jay%*G/?-^^28). I think it is only a spirit that can know this kind of password, isn’t it?

 The next thing is to never and never share your password with anyone regardless of the relationship. I can say this because of the experience I have gotten in the past years. The password can be made known by one another ONLY if the account belongs to a company or group of people. Never and never for an individual account!

Do you know that if your email account is not well managed, it can be used to track down your facebook account; it sounds hard, but it very true. Be careful of the link you get that tells you to update your account passwords and details. You must remember that some of the happenings in facebook are brought to your notice through email notification. You might not know if you don’t regularly check your email account.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOUR ACCOUNT STAYS LOGGED IN AUTOMATICALLY

This is very important too. If the computer you use for internet surfing is not personal or you browse in a public place, it is better and advisable never to keep your account to be always logged in.

The reason is not far-fetched; if you do so, there is every tendency that another user will automatically goes in to your account when he/she logs in with the same computer you use previously and by extension, your account can be accessed and the bad can be done. Make sure you unmark the box that tells you to stay logged in if the computer is yours. And always make sure you log out successfully when you are done. If possible, when you use public place for browsing, restart the computer. Doing this is one of the best facebook account protection tips I recommend.

SET YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT TO ALERT YOU ALWAYS VIA PHONE

One of the best way to protect your facebook account is to set your facebook for instant notification via your mobile/cell phone. You can even set more that one phone contact. For example, I get notified for any info that happens with my account on facebook via my mobile phone because of the previous settings I made on facebook notification. Be it message, poke, tagging, post, status, comment and so on are communicated to me instantly they happen on facebook. Thus, you will know what goes on with your account even if you are offline, very nice indeed! To do this, follow this way:

1. Go to the top-right side of your Facebook-account and click on   small   rounded-wheel look icon.

2. Then, bring down the menu.

3. Click on account setting.

4. Locate notification.

5. Choose Mobile or Phone notification or sms notification.

6. Tick, mark  or select all the necessary info.

7. Click save and you are done!
